Selecting the right wall size portrait can sometimes feel like an overwhelming decision so we choose the traditional 8×10 inch print and a few 5×7 inch prints to display on our walls. Often, those print sizes become lost on medium or large size wall.
When choosing the correct size prints for your walls, think about the width of the wall. On a 2 foot wide wall, an 8×10 inch or 11×14 inch print might be perfect. For larger walls I would suggest larger images so that the prints aren’t overcome by the extra wall space. For example, in a hallway display 3, 12×12 inch prints would be beautiful because the 3 images would encourage your eye to travel through the hallway wall space. Another example is a living room display. Here I would suggest a 16×20 inch, 20×24 inch prints or larger because living rooms tend to be one of the biggest rooms in the house, therefore, have more wall space to be covered.
The image below has multiple sizing options for you to view. My hopes are that this will help you determine which size prints will best fit in your household. I can offer additional assistance if you are open to an in home consultation or open to emailing me a picture of the spaces you would like to display your images on.
