This little guy is already 1 year old. Where did the time go?! It sure has been fun to watch him change throughout the year. I can only imagine all of the things he is going to be learning and doing over the next.
Happy Birthday Jacob!

I did a little experiment based upon the feedback that I received when I asked my friends and Facebook “Fans” what company they use for developing pictures. I sent a few of my images to a couple of the labs that were mentioned to see what they would look like. The results are shown below.
Three things to note: 1. Sorry for the yucky scanned images. 2. There is a huge difference in printing labs. 3. I learned that Shutterfly actually printed the 4×6 inch image on paper that was a few centimeters smaller than 4×6 inches. I am not sure why, but I am pretty sure that if you had a 4×6 inch frame that it wouldn’t fit correctly.

Please pardon the mess on the blog. I am in the midst of making changes to it so if you see something goofy, don’t be scared. It will all be fixed shortly. :)

The Sturgis Family and the Raivala Family go way back, really way back. So far back that Katerina remembers the day that my niece (who many of you have met at your wedding, Elayna) was born. It is probably no surprised to you when I say that I could have spent all day with this family exploring Gibbs Museum. To bad that it closed while we were still in it. I did think about hiding in one of the barns for an overnight adventure. I am pretty sure that Ayden would have been up for that.

Meet the Landon Family. They are a sweet, sweet family. Throughout the session they kept quoting books to little Devin. Devin’s eyes lit up every time and the largest smile would appear.
Brian (Devin’s Dad) is a good storyteller and author. If you have a moment, check out his website. It is : www.BrianLandon.com

I know that I am not the greatest at blogging. I think that it is because I have a hard time coming up with the words to describe the pictures that I take. I think that I need to start speaking from the heart more and spend less time thinking about what is the correct thing to say or not to say. I guess the years of working in Human Resources made me cautious that way. :) Don’t get me wrong, I think that being aware of other’s feelings is important, but I personally hold myself back from showing you who I really am because of my cautious mind. I’ll be working on that. I promise.
I had a busy summer both personally and in my world of photography. My two oldest children are in karate and I am a believer that we should encourage their dreams and ambitions so we have been attending karate class very regularly even though the youngest two kids don’t exactly like sitting at the karate studio for 2+ hours. Thank goodness it has been nice out so we have been able to go on walks while the older boys are in class.
It has been years since I have felt like I was able to kick back and enjoy summer, but this year it was accomplished. My family and I were able to go on multiple family vacations this summer. We also watched countless sunsets, went on family bike rides, played outside almost everyday, at dinner on the patio and slept in our playhouse.
It was a great summer and I am excited to share with you some of the pictures that I have been blessed to photograph over the last few months. Here are just a few of the images that I fell in love with.

I will get more up in the next few weeks.

Sweet Sweet Joe. You are a ball of energy and so much fun to hang out with. Like your Mom says, “You are all boy” and you love toys. Thanks for giving the Teddy Bear a ride and for playing with me.

Angie Platt (Plattinum Photography) and her family are in the midst of the biggest journey their lives on Earth might encounter. They are packing up and moving to New Zealand in just a few months so that they can help spread God’s words. I am beyond proud of them. If you would like to learn more about their journey please visit their blog at: http://andgodsaidgo.com/
