Where you print really does matter

Otsego, MN Photographer

I did a little experiment based upon the feedback that I received when I asked my friends and Facebook “Fans” what company they  use for developing pictures. I sent a few of my images to a couple of the labs that were mentioned to see what they would look like. The results are shown below.

Three things to note: 1. Sorry for the yucky scanned images. 2. There is a huge difference in printing labs. 3. I learned that Shutterfly actually printed the 4×6 inch image on paper that was a few centimeters smaller than 4×6 inches. I am not sure why, but I am pretty sure that if you had a 4×6 inch frame that it wouldn’t fit correctly.

Please pardon the mess on the blog.  I am in the midst of making changes to it so if you see something goofy, don’t be scared.  It will all be fixed shortly.  :)

Nikki and Jesse- Engaged

Rogers, MN Photographer

Nikki and Jesse are busy planning a June 2011 wedding.

They are a fun loving couple so it made sense to me to make sure that there was a punch of color in their images, which isn’t always to do in November.  We walked around enjoying the bright morning sun as I tried to keep Nikki and Jesse close together so that they wouldn’t get cold.  :)  Trust me, it wasn’t hard to get them to snuggle.

Christine and Josh- Engaged!!

Minneapolis, MN Photographer

My cousin Christine met the man of her dreams and recently became engaged to him (my whole family squealed with excitement when we heard the news). Of course, the first thing I did when I saw them for their engagement session was to give both Christine and Josh big hugs. I am so excited for them!!!

Rachel and Chris- Engaged!!

Minneapolis, MN Photographer

I remember the first time I heard Rachel talk about Chris. She met him at a convention and instantly took a liking to him. She was actually completely smitten for him and so when the day came that she told me that they were getting married…I cried happy tears.

They make each other laugh, support each others creativity and interests and are all around great for each other. I am so happy for both of them!!

PhotographerPhotographerPhotographerPhotographerPhotographerPhotographerHere is a sneak peek of part 1 of their engagement portraits. We were rained out for the last part of our session so watch for more of this awesome couple in the near future.

02/12

My very talented May 22 Bride created her own Save the Date cards and I think that they are truly wonderful so I just had to share them with you.  I am a fan of bright colors so the orange and pink really caught my attention.  Plus, I love the photo that they picked out for the card.  They are such a cute, fun couple!

She was inspired by another Save the Date card that she saw online and then gave them a little personal twist and made them their own.  The end result: something super fun and totally unexpected.  Love it!
