Little Leo stole my heart. I don’t think that the feelings are mutual though. This little man had his eye on someone or should I say something else. He was fascinated with the trees during this session. All he wanted to do was to look up in amazement. Trees are pretty amazing, but I have to admit that I take them for granted. Thanks for the little reminder Leo.

When my sister was younger she was given this coat. Since then her daughters (who are now 18 and 7) have worn it too. Last year my sister panicked in the thought that she had lost it forever. Magically it appeared and it was brought over to my house for my little girls to enjoy. They sure did enjoy it.
The first picture of is Grace. You will notice that I placed her in a foot of snow and she didn’t know how to move in it.
The second picture is of Claire modeling the jacket. You will notice that I tried to get her to stay put in one place by putting her in a foot of snow, but that didn’t work. Off she ran.
I just love my silly girls. Now if I could just convince my older boys to model the jacket. Just kidding…that would be mean and totally unlike me.
One more thought before I let you enjoy the pictures, I really think that there is something beautiful about winter portraits. I am not sure why, but us Minnesotans don’t take advantage of the winter wonderland for portraits as much as I think we should. Especially when we can create images that are as gorgeous as these.

Frost was shimmering on the morning of Kaelee’s portrait session so I called her Mother and asked if we could meet in an open field. Thankfully, she agreed. We were only outside for a few minutes, but I was able to capture a few cute outdoor pictures of Kaelee. Don’t worry, she did warm up under a few blankets while reading a book later on. :)

I did a little experiment based upon the feedback that I received when I asked my friends and Facebook “Fans” what company they use for developing pictures. I sent a few of my images to a couple of the labs that were mentioned to see what they would look like. The results are shown below.
Three things to note: 1. Sorry for the yucky scanned images. 2. There is a huge difference in printing labs. 3. I learned that Shutterfly actually printed the 4×6 inch image on paper that was a few centimeters smaller than 4×6 inches. I am not sure why, but I am pretty sure that if you had a 4×6 inch frame that it wouldn’t fit correctly.

Please pardon the mess on the blog. I am in the midst of making changes to it so if you see something goofy, don’t be scared. It will all be fixed shortly. :)

Kate started Kindergarten this fall and to celebrate she had her very own portrait session. She picked out her wardrobe and was really excited about her blue sparkle shoes. I have to admit, they are pretty rocking.
